Travel To Alaska

I am a Canadian citizen, I pay my taxes and my medical bills on time and I am still considered a resident of Canada. I have been in China for over a year and my previous insurance ran out – which didn’t matter because I am covered in China by the school I work for. Now I have to go to Ghana for a week. I’d like to buy travel insurance, but all the sites I’m finding say that you must be in Canada to buy the insurance. I can’t go home first! What should I do?

I am moving from Australia to Vancouver in August, obviously I will have my normal travel insurance, but since I will be in vancouver for 2 years on a working visa – I would be looking at getting something alot cheaper than travel insurance. What would be the best option for me? I thought about just getting travel insurance for the first month or 2, then once I am settled down look for a cheaper option. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I am going to Europe and I am wanting my dad to give me $200 to travel with, only thing is is that I don’t want to let him know I’m going to Europe. So can anyone think of an idea that I can get the money. I’m going to call from there and surprise them that I am able to do what I can do.
