What kind of dog shoes should I buy for my puppy?

Feb-28-2010 Posted under Alaska Flights
I currently live in Las Vegas and I’m going home to Alaska for the holidays. I’m going to bring my puppy with me. He’ll be 8 months then. Where and what kind of shoes and clothes can I buy him to keep him warm? I don’t want him to get sick because it’ll be a complete change for him. :(

I also bought one of those sherpa dog carriers because he will be traveling with me in the cabin of the aircraft so what other things can I do to make him more comfortable during the flight? Thanks everyone!

How come when a plane flys halfway around the world, it goes way up into the arctic and back then in a arc?

Nov-30-2009 Posted under Alaska Flights
Wouldnt it be faster and a shorter distance if it went in a straight line? When I was on a flight from New York to Beijing, the plane went way up into northern Canada through the northern tip of Alaska and through Russia and went back down south to Beijing. Why dont the planes just fly straight west in a shorter straight line instead of making a huge detour?

Checked Bag Fees w/connecting flights?

Nov-17-2009 Posted under Alaska Flights
So pretty much all the airlines are charging fees for checked bags. I have no complaint. My only issue is I have an upcoming round trip flight with one connection each way.

SEA->Orl (Delta and Delta)
Orl->Sea (northwest and Alaska)

They are all part of the same alliance. and I am actually a northwest elite member so I won’t need to pay for checked bag at that point. However, I don’t believe Delta or Alaska will waive the fees.

Just curious if you only need to pay checked baggage fee once? and in my case of the return flight where I start with Northwest, do I need to pay the baggage fee when I connect onto the Alaska plane?

Thanks

What is the most uncomfortable airline you ever flew on?

Jul-31-2009 Posted under Alaska Flights
For me, I think Alaska Air was by far the worst (6 hour overnight flight and couldn’t get 5 minutes of sleep), the seat reclined about 1.5 inches, and the actually ran out of food before they got to me in the back of the plane.
What are your choices?
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the flight in was delayed for an hour.
DC Girl, though a flight to Alaska is “technically” domestic, we both know that a flight to Britain is closer then a flight to our 49th and 50th states.

I have a question regarding NWA’s minor rules?

Jun-4-2009 Posted under Alaska Flights
I can’t understand this :IO

Unaccompanied Minors are not allowed on flights departing between 9 pm and 5 am unless travel is international, on a domestic flight less than 2 hours or on a flight operating to/from Alaska and Hawaii.

Does this mean alaska hawai and international is not allowed?
Because I would love to go on a night-flight.
it would be MN to Las vegas

Does anyone know where I can find the length of a flight?

Jun-3-2009 Posted under Alaska Flights
The specific flight I want to know is JFK (New York) to Anchourage Alaska.
And then from Anchourage to Taipei.
Thanks!
Actually the airline i’m flying with is China Airlines, I’ve never been with them but they’re not actually from “China” they’re Taiwan based and the travel agent told me that the flight is from JFK to anchourage non stop, then from anchourage to taipei which is my detination.
I was referring to time, but the distance is good to know too, thanks

I am going on a trip next week and I actually change airlines when I have a layover. Checking in?

Mar-27-2009 Posted under Alaska Flights
I start on Northwest Airlines and switch to Alaska Airlines in Seattle. Since I will have checked in with NWA, should I still go to the Alaskan ticket counter in Seattle to check in for that flight or will they already have my check in from NWA? And what about my checked luggage? Will it automatically be switched to the other airline?
